Turn The Tide Portishead Big Clean
Turn The Tide Portishead Big Clean – Sunday 28th July
Research by The Royal Society has shown that volunteers carrying out beach cleans are more effective at tackling plastic pollution than costly high-tech solutions: “Based on the range of options currently available, those that involve hand-picking litter from shorelines and/or intervene close to the source of plastic pollution are likely to be the most effective.” (royalsociety.org/news/2024/04/legacy-plastics-report/) If you would like to play your part, join the Portishead Big Clean, 10:30am – 11:30am Sunday 28th July, meeting at Stonechat Green Park. Please bring gloves, and a bag for the litter you find.
